Hi! My name is Julie Ucha and I graduated from DePaul University in June 2020 majoring in Graphic Design and minoring in User Experience Design.

During my time as a Graphic Designer, I have worked at DePaul University, Payroc, and DWA covering a wide variety of design tasks. At DePaul, I was the sole motion graphics designer for the Premiere Film Festival in 2018. I worked with the creative team to deliver professional level graphics for the award ceremony. At Payroc, my time was divided evenly between the Design, Marketing, and Events departments creating many design projects for internal use. And at DWA, I created many pharmaceutical client deliverables in a timely manner while keeping each client’s branding at the forefront.

I also enjoy creating personal design projects, such as Culture’s Mirror: Comedy which was a visual look at how the comedic stylings of America and England differed. This included 50 posters for television shows made in the span of one month and can be viewed on my “Design Work” page.

April 2016 - Skills USA - Fourth Place in Graphic Design

May 2016 - Metra Safety Poster Contest - Honorable Mention

June 2020 - The Pierre Bowens Award

These three awards were received for graphic design work in competitions pinning me against my peers. The Skills USA competition was held in Springfield, IL over a full weekend. Designers were given photographs from last year’s competition and asked to create a poster for next year’s possible competitors. I was the highest ranking competitor from my high school.

The Metra Safety Poster Contest had entries from all over the country. I was awarded an Honorable Mention out of all the entries from my age group.

The Pierre Bowens Award was given for my performance during my time at DePaul University. It was awarded to honor my own work and how it correlated to the work of Pierre Bowens.
